Hunting

Who: Astharoshe Asran ([info]tigress_of_kiev), OPEN
Where: Around town, starting at the Cemetery
When: After sunset
Rating: R for Violence
Summary: Asthe's gone out hunting.
the log:

Asthe hated having the chip in. She had tried to have it removed, but it had failed. Her abilities were still limited and she couldn't move as fast as she wanted. She could still fight some of the monsters that roamed the city. No matter how many she killed, more seemed to take their place. She knew that Alucard roamed the Cemetery and she didn't hunt there, no, instead she held the Sword of Gae Bolg, a staff like weapon at her side as she strolled along some of the graves.

Terrans believed her people to be undead, but they were not. She didn't have a soul, but she still had a heart. She shook her head a bit, the single lock of red falling into her eyes for a moment before being brushed away. Shaking her head a bit she headed for the gate. She was going to hunt tonight and she needed to get moving.

Vincent, having made sure the children were safe at home before leaving, has it in his head to do some hunting as well. He was their sole provider once again now that Lucrecia moved to wherever it was she didn't want him to know, so they needed him for food, of course.

It wasn't like Takato and Amu could go and get it themselves, they were much too young, and didn't seem to have the skills needed to do so...or the weapons.

So, with heavy thoughts on his current situation, including whether or not Lucrecia would ever care to speak with him again, he enters the cemetery. His head is down as he does so, but he pauses, aware of someone nearby.

Slowly, he looks up...

Asthe stopped where she stood, her grip tightening on her weapon for a moment before she realized that this newcomer wasn't someone that was going to hurt her. It didn't look like Anderson at all.

She nodded her head to him in greeting, staying silent as he looked up at her. She hadn't seen him around before, but then again, she didn't get out very often. The sun limited her movements during the day.

"Good evening," she said finally.

"Evening." He replied after a moment or two, nodding in return. Asthe was a new face to him as well, Vincent not being one to go out much at all...even before he took in Takato and Amu.

"If I am intruding, I apologize. It..was not my intention to do so."

She shook her head a bit. "You are not. I was lost in thought."

She didn't admit things like that very often, but she needed to keep her guard up for things like this. She didn't want to be caught unaware by someone who would want to hurt her.

Vincent nodded, able to understand. He had wandered upon this place for the first time because he had gotten lost in thought. A short nod is given, and the gunman turns to leave the way he came.

He had some hunting to go do for the kids, after all. Though, he suddenly pauses at the gate, looking over his shoulder at this stranger.

"Do you know of a place to hunt that is close? I wish to be back home soon."

"I can take you to where I usually hunt. It was my goal to go hunting when I ventured out tonight," she said with a slight smirk and a bit of fang. She approached Vincent and the gate. It would be easier to take him to her usual hunting grounds than to tell him how to get there.

"I am Astharoshe Asran."

Vincent gives another nod, inwardly pleased at the fortune of coming across this person here. Astharoshe was her name, apparently.

"It is appreciated either way...I'm Vincent Valentine." He waited for her to lead the way to where they would be going.

She nodded to Vincent again as she passed by him and then headed towards the forest. She knew that even without her full speed and strength she shouldn't go too deep into the forest in case something happened, but she had the experience not to get too hurt or surrounded by too many creatures.

"This way, Vincent."

Vincent follows, walking alongside his new, but temporary companion. He's content with keeping silent, cloak fluttering softly behind him. There was, however, a vague urge to maybe start talking about something, if only because the voices in his head were being obnoxiously loud at the moment.

She was content with silence for now. She never was one for small talk when she knew she had a task to complete. The weather was getting colder and she was going to have to get some food preserved and stored in some way so that she would be able to survive.

She went into the woods, glancing at him as she moved down a familiar path.

He took note of the glance and moved along with her to the path that she knew, making sure to be wary of their surroundings. The last time Vincent had been here was with Sephiroth when the two came in to isolate the gunman after his chip was removed.

It sort of bothered him and made him wonder whether or not getting it removed had been such a good idea after all.

The graveyard wasn't that far away from the Marshall Street Apartments, where Esther lived. So it wasn't that odd to find her out and about, making trips to the High School to visit Abel and Seth. She also visited the church, usually if no one else was there.

Right now Esther was returning from the High School. She had visited the library in hopes of finding a book that could distract her from her worries. Esther ended up leaving with a thin paperback book in hand, the only one that caught her interest this time.

As she left the High School and made her way back to her apartment Esther saw a familiar figure emerging from the cemetery.

"Duchess!" she called in gretting, and began walking towards the cemetery.

At the sound of a familiar voice, Asthe's head snapped up and turned in the direction that Esther was coming from. She smiled a bit, seeing the young woman. It had been a while since she had seen her. They had spoken over the communicator several times, but she had yet to go see her in person.

"Good evening, Esther," she said with a smile. "You need to be careful when you go out." She knew that the nun could take care of herself, but still, she felt the need to say it, especially when she knew what lived around here.

Esther stopped a couple feet away from her. "I know -- people are always warning me." She appreciated Asthe's concern. "How have you been doing?"

It was nice to see and talk with Asthe in person. Lately she had been feeling a little lonely, almost as if she were detached from everyone else. Not that she would ever admit it, of course -- there were more important things to worry about here.

"I have been doing as well as I can in a place like this. I can only do so much during the daylight hours," She was asleep for most of the daylight hours, preferring to go out at night, and this place lacked the protection that the Empire did.

"Where were you going?"

"It must be hard, having to stay inside like that." Being the restless girl she was, Esther would go crazy if she was limited to going out only at night.

"I was just heading back to my apartment." She held up the book she had been carrying. "I was bored, so I visited the library in the old high school. And you?"

"I was going to go hunting. It is about the only thing that I can do," she said, motioning towards the forest with the Sword of Gae Bolg.

Asthe hated being limited in her movements. Her apartment was nothing but a cage within a cage to her and she wanted to find these scientists and make them pay for what they had done.

Esther felt sympathetic. "You could join the police force, if you want something more to do. They are always in need of people to do night patrols." She smiled a bit sheepishly. "I do my best to stay busy here...doing something productive keeps my mind off other things."

She hadn't thought about joining the police force, but she didn't care for whatever laws that people came up with here. She wanted to get back to the Empire and be rid of this place. She was sure that Esther wanted to get back to the Vatican along with Abel and their leader.

"I will be fine on my own."
